Body shop / Workshop Team Leader – Automak Automotive Company K.S.C.C

• Monitor the performance of all denters, painters, and support staff’s, in terms of their productivity, efficiency, and utilization
• Communicate and negotiate with insurance representatives for approval of body repair estimate, any additional approvals in line with the department profitability objectives
• Follow up with insurance companies’ representatives for pending approvals, total loss declarations, claim compensations and any related authorizations from external parties
• Attend to customer inquiries, check the damaged vehicles carefully; estimate the costs of repairs including diagnostics of damages, determination of repair method, and calculation of charges applicable to customers or claims from insurance companies
• Ensure to obtain customer approval or insurance approval for parts and labor which are subject to change after dismantle or disassembly of body parts and make sure the availability of these parts in spare parts department
• Ensure that the body repairs jobs are performed right from first time and all jobs are assigned based on employee capabilities as per the job requirement
• Observe Bodyshop technicians during repairing process and support staff for difficult issues
• Confirm with quality controller for final test and inform service advisor for any additional work or delay in the delivery
• Make sure all Body shop technicians are following the operational guide; work area is safe, secure, clean and organized, and ensure that equipment/tools are in good conditions for use
• Evaluate performance of Bodyshop personnel and ensure training needs assessed for existing employees and actual training for the newly recruited manpower for various kinds of jobs performed in the Bodyshop
• Coordinate with parts department for unavailability of parts
• Analyze reports and submit to department manager and set an action plan/counter measures for repeat works and follow up implementation with team leaders
• Ensure proper documentation is completed on each job card according to customer specifications and quality standards
• Review work on all accidental vehicles (major & minor) and understand the reason of delay, and escalate in case of delay due to any reasons such as non-availability of spare parts or other components, pendency by insurance companies
• Review all daily reports with job controller by end of every shift and take necessary action to eliminate the delays in repair process
• Report any accidents or incidents happened in workshop area; ensure cleanliness of work area, proper operation of all equipment and machines, safety of technicians and customer vehicles
• Utilize the workshops effectively & labor working hours to increase work productivity & ensures providing customers with quick & enhanced services
• Analyzes the Repeat work reports and submit it to the Manager and assist with setting an action plan for repeat works and follow up implementation with team leaders
• Ensures all equipment & tools are in good working condition and are undergoing calibration properly and in a timely manner which enhances the operational performance
• Coordinates with the spare parts department to ensure availability of spare parts for the repair works
• Prepare all periodical reports required, analyzes, identifies the opportunities and discusses the results with the management and staff in parallel
• Coordinates and assists the Workshop Manager for analyzing the workshops’ operational performance and recommends opportunities for improvement
• Assist the Manager with Managing daily operational tasks of Express Service centers and implements necessary actions to achieve financial targets and to meet KPIs in customer satisfaction and productivity
• Handles customer complaints to maximize customer satisfaction and retention, which will reflect positively on business sales, profitability and growth
• Follow up with Supervisors, Foremen, QC and technicians during the repair process and makes sure that the job execution is right from the first time and supports staff for technical issues when required
• Evaluates staff, assess, train and coach them to get desired output from each staff at their roles
• Perform other related duties as required
