Pastry Chef/ Cake Designer – NStyle International

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and produce all pastry, desserts and sweet related dishes together with bakery items for the restaurant menus and ensuring items are of a consistently high standard.
• Lead, motivate and manage team members, providing them with opportunities for training and development
• Organize the activities of the team, providing guidance and support in their daily work.
• Maintain a high standard of service at all times.
• Ensure that all Health and Safety legislation and guidelines are implemented, adhered to and reviewed regularly, in respect of kitchen production, employees, machinery, equipment and hygiene.
• Ensure all areas are clean and tidy after service
• To ensure all dishes are served at the correct portion size, quality and temperature.
• Take responsibility for the receipt and safe storage of deliveries, checking that goods are correct and of good quality and noting / resolving any discrepancies.
• Order stock on behalf of the Company, ensuring that quality standards and value for money are obtained.
• Any other reasonable duties as required to fulfill the needs of the business.
• Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
• Order or requisition food and other supplies needed to ensure efficient operation.
• Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
• Check the quantity and quality of received products.
• Undertakes additional duties assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous chef
• Follows instructions given by Superiors.
• Should favor vertical communication system to his/her Superiors in order to maximize operational efficiency and guest satisfaction for all functions and activities involving F&B.
• Must be perfectly groomed at all times.
• Knows how & what to do in case of an evacuation/fire alarm or other emergencies
• Behaves at all times in such a way as to avoid accidents. Is familiar of procedure to report accidents in the premises.
• Is able to raise the internal alarms correctly.
• Adheres strictly to all directives and the safety regulations in place in the working place.
• Is obliged to take part in training courses for fire protection, health & safety at work and handling hazardous substances.
• Takes part in any fire or evacuation drills and ensure complete familiarization with all exits, including those normally used by customers as well as fire escapes.
• Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
• Directly responsible to maintain all the time the mise en place of food in proper order, clean condition of the fridges and all working areas of the kitchen and storages.
• Deals with spoilage, breakage and accident efficiently in accordance to the required standard.
• Abide by the instructions given by Superiors.
• Maintain HACCP Standards.
