PERSONNEL ASSISTANT (RECRUITMENT)

Main purpose of job
To support the personnel manager in the provision of a high quality
and professional personnel service by providing administrative
support on recruitment procedures.
Main responsibilities
1. Place job advertisements, where necessary in association with
recruitment agencies, and send out application forms and job
information packs to potential job applicants.
2. Arrange interviews and make any necessary arrangements for
pre-employment checks and tests.
3. Deal with all routine correspondence to applicants, including
writing to successful and unsuccessful job applicants.
4. Send out offer letters and statements of terms and conditions of
employment to successful applicants.
5. Coordinate arrangements for introducing new staff into the
company, including staff induction.
6. Assist in dealing with routine questions relating to terms and
conditions of employment from existing staff, managers and
applicants.
7. Set up and maintain a personal file for every new employee and
ensure that these are maintained in an accurate and up-to-date
manner.
8. Maintain the personnel database and prepare reports as required
to provide information to management.
9. Maintain the staff handbook in an accurate and up-to-date
condition.
10. Make any necessary arrangements for the recruitment of temporary
staff as requested by managers.
