Purchasing Specialist – Pharmacies

Job purpose:
Purchasing Specialist communicates with warehouse and purchasing staff to resolve inventory/purchase order issues and perform customer service follow-up; this includes monitoring inventory in the system, performing daily data analysis of item database, processing related reports and submitting findings to departmental buyers and manager so as to properly process purchase orders based on accurate records.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1.Leads the development and implementation of company strategies to meet the procurement needs of clients.
2.Following up on all clients’ requirements and providing them with the required quantities at the appropriate time.
3.Establishes and maintains strong relationships with major suppliers and buyers to assure purchase orders are expedited in an efficient, timely manner.
4.Monitor and evaluate supplier metrics for capability, performance, and delivery to meet organizations planning and forecasting needs.
5.Initiate resolution of credit issues between vendors and accounting Dept. to maintain delivery schedule of supplies and ensure accurate payment.
6.Coordinate meetings between vendors, management/ internal departments to resolve product quality, capacity, specification and delivery issues and to negotiate and improve standards of quality, delivery and customer service
7.Manage the development, monitoring and continuous improvement of statistical reports on the client’s purchase.
8.Drive best practices in strategic purchasing, including category strategies based on internal and external benchmarking.
9.Coordinate strategic procurement and supply chain deliverables and ensures that key project milestones are met.
10.Provide leadership and guidance to the team members within the function.
11.Responsible for performance management reporting activities
12.Receive and analyze demand plans quarterly and monthly to utilize them as an input in generating material requirement plans
13.Check the availability of materials in the warehouses in addition to the quantities of finished ones to be taken into consideration when establishing subsequent purchasing plans.
14.Follow up with the purchasing function to assure their adherence to the purchasing plans to avoid any shortage of materials in the warehouse.
15.Participate in monitoring the efficiency of the developed plans, documenting results and reporting any shortfalls on a timely manner
16.Ensuring smooth flow of work and information between the Supply Chain function and all YIACO concerned functions.
17. Perform other related duties supplementary to the work described herein.
