Since 2007, IRC has worked with refugees and other vulnerable populations in Jordan. IRC’s programs in Jordan focuses on urban interventions in the north that address gender-based violence specifically violence against women and girls for Syrian refugees and host community members as well as reproductive health care to Syrian refugees through two clinics based in Ramtha and Mafraq and a primary health care facility in Zaatari refugee camp. Since January 2013, IRC also carries out Child Protection programs in Syrian refugee camps, providing specialized services for the identification, support and protection of unaccompanied children (UAC) and other children at risk.
Job Overview/Summary: Senior Health Officer will beresponsible for overall administration of the IRC reproductive health facilities at Azraq refugee camp and supervision of health staff deployed at the health facilities. I addition, the position is responsible for the following;
Major Responsibilities: The Senior Health Officer will be specifically responsible for conducting the following activities:
Ensure appropriate patient access to the IRC reproductive health facilities at the Azraq refugee camp
Monitoring of all the activities carried out at the IRC reproductive health facilities and enforce the standard operating procedures and polices involved in the delivery of RH services
Administratively direct and supervise the IRC health staff deployed at the reproductive health facilities
Review and resolve complaints by the patients, staff grievances and recommend modifications to improve the delivery of health services at the health facilities
Organize weekly meetings at the health facilities and prepare and share weekly progress reports about activities at the health facilities with the supervisor
Ensure referrals of patients to appropriate level of health care facilities to receive the needed services when required
Raise procurement requests for routine supplies required at the health facilities for smooth operation
Coordinate with the coordination officer for liaison with the other health actors in the Azraq refugee camp
Represent IRC in health working group meetings conducted at the refugee camp when needed
Attend internal and external visits at the health facilities
In coordination with the Health Manager and M&E team, ensure proper data collection, monitoring, evaluation and reporting tools are in place and being used in a timely and effective manner
Provide data to Health Data Unit at the beginning of each month, assist with monthly data analysis, and take action as appropriate.
