Women’s Protection and Empowerment Manager – IRC International Rescue committee
Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives.
Working in coordination with the humanitarian community the IRC has been providing assistance from Jordan to vulnerable peoples living in southern Syria. The IRC’s assistance to southern Syria program is primarily focused on health. The IRC continues to support facilities through sub-partner engagement to provide commodities as well as incentives.
SCOPE OF WORK:
With direct management support from the Women’s Protection and Empowerment Coordinator, the Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE) Manager plays a key role in leading project development and implementation, providing technical support and guidance to the IRC’s protection services including remote management of staff and/or partners inside southern Syria, and ensuring the delivery of quality WPE programming in southern Syria. The WPE Manager will be primarily responsible for the establishment and running of IRC Women’s Centers across southern Syria.
Key Working Relationships:
Position Reports to: Women’s Protection and Empowerment Coordinator
Position directly supervises: 2 x Women’s Protection and Empowerment Officers
Indirect Reporting: Will work within IRC’s cross-border protection team, led by the Senior Integrated Protection Coordinator
Other Internal and/or external contacts: Regular coordination with other humanitarian actors and partners in Jordan and Syria.
