This section summarizes the primary purpose of your job, the major overall responsibilities. Responsible for implementing all accounting activities for primary healthcare centre, maintaining the General Ledger accounts, posting all financial transactions into the accounting system as well as preparing accurate and timely financial reports / statements in line with Accounting Policies & Guidelines and International Accounting Standards.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Policies & Processes
1) Implement Accounting Section policies and follow the set processes in order to achieve the Department’s objectives.
2) Perform day to day accounting tasks such as posting journal entries into the accounting system to the General Ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies encountered.
3) Perform General Ledger reconciliation with sub ledgers (all subsidiary accounts and records will be reconciled to the General Ledger) on monthly and annual basis.
4) Inform the Senior Accountant on reconciliation activities between the General Ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers, in addition to recording, adjusting, closing and reversing entries to attain reconciliation in such cases (after obtaining the approval of the Senior Accountant).
5) Ensure timely posting of sub-ledgers and all period end transactions in accordance with the month end closing procedures.
6) Conduct periodic reconciliation of petty cash and maintain a record of all payments made, as well as preparing monthly bank reconciliations.
7) Record all accounts receivable transactions and file all supporting documents to ensure timely completion of accounts for the month end closing.
8) Record all accounting entries in accordance with the international accounting standards and accounting policies & procedures.
9) Prepare accounts payable/ receivable reports related to payments, long outstanding receivables and others, as required.
10) Prepare General Ledger reports for primary healthcare centre pertaining to journal vouchers summaries, account analysis, period closing, Trial Balance and other General Ledger reports as required.
