1- Range/Assortment Management
➢Deliver market leading assortment inline with range strategy.
➢Establish Range assortment with a detailed analytics/assessment on Ideal Range requirement.
➢Range plan aligned with Key commercial events (Catalogue, Ramadan, Major Store Launches etc.)
➢Establish a strong category price structure thoroughly benchmarked with competitor analysis.
➢Identify, source, negotiate and develop compelling products best suited for the customer needs and inspiration as per trends.
2- Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management
➢Review and finalize supplier and sourcing strategy with senior buyer
➢Create standardized product specification sheet for all product lines to be shared with suppliers.
➢Maintain close working relation with strategic suppliers on exclusive developments (Factory visits, Supplier meetings, range reviews/developments )
➢Identify and leverage alternate buying opportunities.
➢Analyze supplier capacities and performance on a 6 monthly basis to derive future strategic actions. Create Long term ( 3 years) Business strategy with key suppliers with clear sets of expectations on growth and benefits.
➢Establish a process to facilitate the Buying assistants and suppliers for effective sample management
3- OTB Management and Ordering Process
➢Align the buying plan to the department/category business plan and the merchandise strategy
➢Place orders based on the buying plan and ensure merchandise is delivered as per the plan.
➢Work with planning team on stock intake requirements, replenishment orders to manage adequate stock levels and secure availability.
➢Analyse sales performance and review with senior buyer with proposals around re-orders, mark downs, discontinuations etc.
➢Deliver packaging standards as per company standards. Liaise with packaging team and suppliers for content development and packaging artworks. Support packaging team with standardization of packaging in product categories.
➢Liaise with Quality team for effective communication on quality standards and requirements with suppliers. Address quality conflicts and take corrective action plan .
4- Cross Function Collaboration
➢Collaborate and maintain close working relation with Retail, VM, Marketing, Training to ensure maximum category exposure at different customer facing levels
➢Ensure prompt submission of samples, training materials, in-store/digital content details, CAM sheets, pricing details to cross function team.
5- Customer Needs and Market Research
➢Leverage customer insights, Market observation and Retail feedback to build stronger range assortments to satisfy the customer needs and expectations.
➢Prepare Market/Customer Visit reports with key observations around Consumer needs, evolving trends, and key opportunities to look at.
➢Closely monitor of Market and customer trend in territories by visiting, as well as gathering feedback leading to a focused and stronger range plan.
➢Closely work with Design team to Identify Trends and develop products for the trend with great commercial edge.
6- Team Development
➢Coach team to improve performance and motivation level.
➢Identify and set individual development plans with clear goals and timelines.
➢Assign specific projects with full ownership on selected areas to individuals to demonstrate their growth potential.
➢Adopt a continuous improvement mindset for self and team,involving frequent mentoring and feedback discussions.
