General Manager – MINDFREE Consulting

Company Brief:
Our client is a leading regional group in logistics & supply chain seeking to recruit a “General Manager” to handle Dammam, Riyadh & Jubail – KSA. The position will be reporting to the Managing Director KSA & BAH.
Job Requirements:
• Must have a university degree
• Handling around 200 staff with 8 – 10 direct reports
• The candidate will have full P&L responsibilities
• Will be responsible for the operational excellence of the organization, sustaining & growing the existing business
• Will be responsible for generating new revenue streamlines from new channels or products like freight, warehousing & distribution
• Solid shipping line, terminal or freight experience
• Someone with strong operational exposure & capabilities, good in managing and building SOP’s, KPI’s & processes
• Must be capable in building strong relationships with the port officials
• Must have strong management & leadership skills
• Able to exercise discretion & good judgment, with an ability to understand the effect of overall decisions in the company
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to extract, compile & analyse data for tactical purposes
• Must be able to demonstrate strong leadership, people management & influencing skills
• Formulates viable product development strategies to impact the growth of the company
• Establishes operational policies, procedures & best practices that would bring in operational efficiencies & improve customer satisfaction
• Negotiates & builds favourable business relationships with external parties such as Carriers, Government Agencies that would improve competitiveness & quality of service to customers
• Proactively reviews & understands customer / market requirements & builds products & solutions to meet the current & potential needs of the customers
• Review & track progress against targets; analyses reports; recommends & implements any changes to existing plans & operating budgets
• Proactively monitors & assess competitor initiatives; takes tactical actions to counter, protects and builds the company’s position
• Builds relationships across all parts of the operation so that the business unit operates seamlessly & is easy for its customers to do business with
• Develops teamwork, demonstrating shared goals and values. Provides leadership guidance & support to all staff in the area. Enables the team to ensure staffs are recruited, trained & motivated; develops appropriate succession plans
• Manages all resources to ensure optimum utilization, controls items of expenditure to pre-determine budgetary levels by maintaining a prudent cost control policy
• Develop operating budgets & responsible for managing & achieving set budgets
• Any other related duties / projects assigned by the MD, in order to meet the business needs
• Oversee operations plans & monitor progress report weekly/monthly/annually for all the portfolios to plan & aim to achieve or exceed the business target
• Oversee activities relating to facility leasing, setup, menu planning & designing, service & enforcing compliance with administrative policies, rules & government regulations to ensure compliance with the main client’s requirement
• Oversee & monitor the hiring, retaining & training of the staffs to ensure succession planning, & foster a culture that exceeds the very best the industry has to offer
• Nationality: Must be a Saudi National
• Must have strong communication skills
