Networks Lead – Gulf International Bank (GIB)
Ensure high availability of the Network infrastructure design related to Voice & Data services.
Review and provide recommendations on firewall architecture, web & email security gateways and other related IT security systems.
Participate in reviewing system logs on LAN/WAN/Security systems regularly and address all system generated errors and warnings immediately to ensure minimum downtimes and disruption to users.
Ensures that fault record systems are established and maintained to record all faults/malfunctions and their rectification
Assist in reviewing software versions on all Network & Internet systems managed by ITNC department and install the latest patches/service packs as deemed appropriate.
Ensure that all newly installed systems are properly documented with appropriate schematics and operating procedures for each system are prepared in a systematic manner.
Assist in reviewing and updating the network guidelines to reflect any changes made to the banks network infrastructure.
Ensure that regular monitoring of the banks internet set-up is performed and hardware & software upgrades of all components are carried out as required.
Assist in configuring security parameters on network Infrastructure components following the system security guidelines set by the banks Information security department.
Assist in addressing and resolving LAN/WAN setup audit comments and recommend improvised network solutions to alleviate future audit concerns.
Provide support to Information security staff on related systems.
Assist in the upgrade and support of Network infrastructure and internet related services in all GIB offices.
Provide necessary assistance in installing, configuring and testing backup Network & Security related systems at the banks DR site(s).
Liaise with network support staff at all GIB sites in evaluating their existing network infrastructure and propose solutions to optimize their network infrastructure.
Provide level – 2 supports for the issues escalated by the Network service desk team and ensure that assigned issues in the bank’s helpdesk system are addressed promptly.
Provide quarterly progress reports to the line manager summarizing all network related activities completed and tasks in progress.
Be prepared to be called upon at out of office working hours to support GIB locations as dictated by circumstances.
Pursue any other related activities as directed by superiors.
