Project Engineer – Leading Construction Company
A. Job Summary
Responsible for executing the work according to the project specification and in line with the scheduled time frame.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide full support to the project manager with regular feedback of all information relating to project status – program, quality, variations, consultant’s issues and other relevant facts etc.
Direct and monitor the project team in executing construction activities as per plans, specifications, and approved contract documents and ensure project delivery in terms of timeline, safety and quality
Supervision and coordination of subordinates’ areas of responsibilities and allocation of work areas to ensure execution of work is carried out in accordance with approved method statements
Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects and ensure planning, monitoring and proper resourcing for each project phase
Review design, IFC, Shop and As-Built drawings, material submittals, specification and authorities’ requirements for required coordination and communication
Record project delays and provide the planning engineer with supporting documents for EOT Claim
Determine project risks, issues and options for mitigation
Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
Prepare and follow up look ahead for materials and manpower, and materials procurement schedule and forward to the Construction Manager
Carry out the specified inspection / test in accordance with relevant Inspection / Test Plans, including the works of the Subcontractors
Monitor the progress and evaluate the performance of subcontractors
Ensure coordination between the project manager, consultant, and the subcontractors
Interact daily with the clients along with the project manager, to understand their needs and requirements to ensure its execution in the project
Perform overall construction management of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and the project team to resolve technical problems on site
Attend project progress, coordination, quality, safety meetings and site visits with relevant client/consultant
Prepare daily and weekly program of work extracted from the main Program of Work, daily productivity sheets for skilled workers, progress and financial reports and presentations
Follow-up with Site Engineer regarding efficient usage of materials to minimize wastage, and supervise materials storage area.
Follow up daily progress with Site Engineers and material approvals with consultant/engineer
Lead the Project team in complying with the Policies and Procedures of the company and that of the state (Qatar Labour Law and Qatar Ministries); and provide consultation and/or oral reprimand in the event of non-compliance, depending on the committed infraction.
Backup data in external drive CD and / or regular backup in Central Server.
Perform other related duties as advised by the direct supervisor
