Main purpose of job
To promote the public image of the organization through advertising,
direct marketing and any other appropriate PR techniques.
1. Develop policies and processes which directly contribute to the
promotion of the organization’s public image.
2. Direct and control public relations staff to ensure that they
are appropriately motivated and trained and carry out their
responsibilities to the required standards.
3. Develop and direct campaigns for the promotion of the organization’s
policies and to encourage fundraising.
4. Develop a media relations programme with appropriate print
and broadcast media to raise awareness of the organization and
5. Develop and maintain effective contacts with a wide range of
external bodies, including contractors and suppliers, to ensure
wide publicity and cost-effective support for the organization’s
policies and activities.

11. Provide the main source of expertise and advice to managers and
staff on all matters with public relations implications.
