UX Specialist – iHorizons

Job Summary
Information architecture (UX Specialist) main task is to conduct user research, interviews and surveys, and then use the gathered information to create sitemaps, wireframes and prototypes. This means a good UX designer has to have strong analytical abilities, backed by technical skills, with the ability to understand business and user requirements and defines personas. Also responsible for preparing estimates and architectural plans as requested, clarifies the mission and vision for the site, balancing the needs of its sponsoring organization and the needs of its audiences, determines what content and functionality the site will contain. Define the user flow, process flow, site content, navigational structures for customer web sites schematic layouts, conceptual design and information architectures and taxonomies for web-based applications.
Functions and Responsibilities
Develop thorough, realistic plans that support organizational objectives
Understand customer business models and goals and help define strategy, content, and features for design of their web site.
Analyze customer and business requirements
Conduct UX research and personas
Analyze audiences and their information and functional needs and analysis
Analyze information design and interactive design through use case scenarios
Define site architecture and navigation that serves as a blueprint of the site upon which all other aspects are built
Create wireframes, site maps, schematics, process maps, feature lists, mockups, visual specification, working prototypes and other artifacts to describe the intended user experience
Keep up to date on emerging technology and usability research
Create system usability guidelines, design guidelines, and GUI prototypes
Understand web analytics, best practices
Create the best possible, consistent user experience
Conducts usability testing
Conduct user manuals and knowledge transfer
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of site design; mastery in principles of web design, and mobile applications.
Strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology
Working knowledge of User Centered Design Principles and Practices
Exceptional communication skills
Good leadership and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented
Knowledge of architecture-related software (Visio, MS Office, Axure)
English and Arabic excellent speaking and writing skills
Knowledge in content management solutions
Education, Training and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or some related discipline required.
A minimum of 3 years of working experience desired.
